Inspired at an early age by Djs Scott Henry and Feelgood in her hometown of Washington, DC, Jen Lasher got a first taste of the music that was to shape her entire future. Electronic beats were a foreign delight after years of classical piano training, this intoxicating boom consumed the young musician with a new passion for music. Only after acquiring a set of turntables could this love be unleashed on the world.
By the age of 19 Jen had already started touring up and down the eastern seaboard, made frequent performances at the World renowned Buzz nightclub in Washington, DC, and was offered her first residency by Lonnie Fisher of Ultraworld Productions at his club Sonar Lounge in Baltimore, MD. Sonar has since won an award for "Best New Nightclub in America" from URB Magazine and has recently made a huge mark on the Rock scene. Also being a fan of the Gothic Industrial sound, when a residency at Alchemy, DC was offered, Jen couldn't refuse. Being one of the biggest nights in the country for it's genre, Alchemy has given Jen the opportunity to play alongside some of the most renowned industrial bands known to date.
A good friendship with fellow Djs Icey and Baby Anne lead to much encouragement of Jen's singing, song writing, and music production ability. She has since come into her own as one of America's favorite electronic artists. With wild energetic stage presence, a funky style, solid production, and live vocals she's earned quite the musical name nationwide.
In the studio Jen has co-wrote and sang on Dj Icey's CD "Different Day" on System Recordings and with the release of Zone 057 "Rain" flipped with the instrumental madness of "Bojangles" she's the newest addition to his Indie label, Zone Records. Their track "Rain" has been licensed to numerous compilations.
This Fall 2005 brings about Jen Lasher's biggest influential leap with the release of her first mixed CD on System Recordings, a double CD set titled "Assult and Battery" due to hit shelves in October. This set will include one mixed CD from Baby Anne with her signature Bass Queen sound. The other mix, vocally rock/industrial influenced from Jen Lasher will be all over the board of electronic music and will include her single "No More Tears". The combination of these two DJ's styles, so different and both so edgy will surely make an impact on the world of mixed CDs a we know it.
